Resident Evil: Retribution
Original editorial retelling for Arcadia. Film: Resident Evil: Retribution (2012), written and directed by Paul W. S. Anderson. Story and production context: Metropolitan Filmexport's official French production notes, including the Arcadia opening on printed page 3; Sony Pictures Entertainment's film synopsis. Umbrella: the promise and the system
In Afterlife, the Arcadia broadcast draws survivors towards a ship used to hold them captive. Its rescue language conceals coercion. Retribution develops that idea through staged cities and controlled environments: familiar places become instruments of the same organisation. The fan emblem unites these spaces visually, but the films do not establish a complete technical specification for the vessel or facility.
ORIGINAL SIGNAL STUDY / AN INTERPRETATION OF THE STORY
Reading the source
The primary narrative references are Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010) and Resident Evil: Retribution (2012), both directed by Paul W. S. Anderson. The local essays retell their on-screen events in original prose; they are not transcripts. Interpretive passages describe how the rescue signal, the ship and the staged environments connect the films. The game storyline is a separate continuity.
Artwork & animation
The tanker artwork and five-second background animation were created for this independent archive. They are interpretive images, not film stills or a canonical reconstruction. The supplied visual references remain unpublished. The eight-panel fan and story diagrams are original vector interpretations created for this archive. The two arrival images remain still illustrations. A separate 22-second original arrival loop appears below the six-scene journey. Resident Evil and related names and marks belong to their respective owners.
